The final year.

Today is my last year in my 20s. It started off terribly thanks to getting verbally reamed the moment I walked into work. After stifling the tears, things picked up. My mom gave me some very pretty rose gold studs and baked me a tasty carrot cake. My coworkers brought me sweets and gave me a kitty card. Other coworkers not-in-my department gave me their best regards. My family wished me a happy birthday. So thank you, everyone! :) It really means *a lot* to me.

The highlight of my evening was going home and spending it with one of the most important things in my life: my sweet little kitty, Ashlin! The plan: make party hats, wear party hats, take pictures, take a shot, and (maybe) take a bath and finally calling it a night. I’m seriously so. wild.

Now to get the show on the road:

Print out template, find some pretty colored paper (this is actually the wrapping paper I saved from an old Lush gift; hey, hoarders), grab a glue stick, grab a pair of scissors, and make a hat. ;D Repeat using scraps for the kitty hat.

BAM, motherfuckers! You got two hats. Sorry for the gross picture. I tried! This neither captured the actual color of the hats nor the actual color of my pretentious original hardwood floors.

There is a god. This actually went remarkably well. :)

I received a gift from Lush in the mail today. It came in perfect timing, so it was like a birthday present! My tub is still stained pink, but with some elbow grease and brand new magic erasers, I was able to remove some of the dye. However, it took 2 hours of scrubbing to clean up a 4″ x 24″ area, and I’m pretty sure that I removed some of the finish. I decided that I’ll be refinishing the tub myself anyway to reseal the surface. Anyway, I appreciate Lush’s gesture. It was really sweet and thoughtful; totally unexpected!

This is the only liquor I have. Well, I have a mini bottle of Jack from Thanksgiving 2 years ago where I made a “bourbon” sauce. Shot time should be coming soon.

And last but not least, I got my first real-piece of mail at my home from my friend Erika! Since it came on my birthday, it was like another present. :) Yay!

I think I’ll postpone & plan a lovely bath for tomorrow instead. ;)

Random grateful note of the day: iMessage is so awesome. Awesoooome. I love how I’m able to keep in touch with all my Australian friends via “text” without additional costs. I love you, iMessage. xoxo
